When to use a google doc QR code
- Meeting agendas and notes on a whiteboard
- Handouts at workshops and training
- Shared documents in a classroom
- Reference documents on noticeboards
Before you print
Set sharing to anyone with the link
This is the mistake almost everyone makes. If sharing is left restricted, scanning shows a request access screen and the code looks broken. Check it from a logged-out browser.
Decide viewer or editor before you print
Anyone who scans gets whatever access the link grants. Editor access on a public poster means anyone can change your document.
Common questions
Why does my Google Doc QR code ask for permission?
The document is still set to restricted sharing. Open the doc, choose Share, and set link access to anyone with the link. Then test it in a private browser window.
