QRFable

UPI QR Code Generator

A UPI QR code lets customers pay you from any UPI app by scanning. You can leave the amount open so they type it, or fix it so a specific sum is pre-filled and there is nothing to get wrong.

When to use a upi pay QR code

  • Shop counters and market stalls that would rather not handle change
  • Invoices, so a client pays the exact amount without re-keying it
  • Event tickets and registration fees at a fixed price
  • Delivery riders and home services collecting on the doorstep

Before you print

Check your UPI ID character by character

A wrong VPA sends money to a stranger, and there is no easy way to get it back. Send yourself one rupee before printing anything.

Fix the amount only when it genuinely is fixed

A fixed-amount code is faster at the till and avoids underpayment. For a variable bill, leave it open — a customer editing a pre-filled figure is slower than typing it fresh.

Laminate anything on a counter

UPI codes live on counters, and counters get wet. A scuffed or peeling code fails to scan at exactly the moment you need it to.

Common questions

Does this work with GPay, PhonePe and Paytm?

Yes. The code follows the standard UPI deep-link format, so any UPI-compliant app reads it. It is not tied to one provider.

Do I need a business account to accept UPI payments?

No. A personal UPI ID works for receiving payments. A business account is worth having for higher limits and proper transaction records once volume grows.

Is there a fee for UPI payments?

UPI person-to-person transfers are free in India. Merchant transactions may carry charges depending on your bank and account type — check with your provider.
