QR codes for hotels and holiday lets
Guests arrive at odd hours with questions nobody is awake to answer. A code in the room handles wifi, check-out and how the heating works.
Where it helps
Guest wifi
A wifi code on the bedside card means nobody types a twenty-character password wrong at midnight. Use the guest network, never your own.
House manual
Heating, appliances, bin day, check-out time. A printed folder gets lost; a code on the fridge does not.
Local recommendations
Your list of places to eat, updated when a favourite closes, without reprinting the welcome book.

Questions
- Is it safe to put my wifi password in a QR code?
- Anyone who scans or photographs it has the password permanently. Use a separate guest network so that only costs you bandwidth, never access to anything else.
- What if a guest has an older phone?
- Wifi codes need iOS 11 or Android 10. Print the network name and password in small text underneath as a fallback.
